Cool Nikon SLR -- finally shipped
Nikon D2H Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review
WiFi, SLR, posts via ftp... all cool. This is a reminder for me to write more comments later.
Just imagine, if you will. You're out in the field (but not too far from civilization). You're taking pictures. You snap. The image zaps itself over to your laptop via 802.11b. Your laptop has a process running that takes that picture, uploads it to your web gallery. But that's not all. It requests your GPS location, and uploads that, too, with a textual description of where you are. So now, your web service takes this image, creates thumbnails, tags the images with a copyright, and adds all the appropriate information to a database like who took the picture when and where. In a near instant, the image is published with all relevant data. Before you even got back home, people could have ordered prints. Now, realistically, you'd want to add it to a work queue for review and editing. But the potential is huge... ;)
