MP3.com assets for sale

This quote from a CBS Marketwatch article:

Featured among photos of items for sale from the online music company are video games, guitars and professional audio mixing boards suitable for rock concerts. "The mindset was to create an environment that was so cutting edge, welcoming, cool, and creative that the staff would always want to be there," said Todd Juneau, former manager of business development. "That was the dot-com boom, so we had everything," he told Wired. The auction will be Webcast beginning at 10 a.m. Pacific.

This is referring to the upcoming auction of MP3.com office assets. I haven't really been following MP3.com, but if you go to their site it's obvious that it's forever gone as the site it once was where you could stick a CD in your machine, have the "key" be uploaded, and then play that for yourself from anywhere. Oh, and of course play music from small and unknown bands.

It's not a C|Net property, which is interesting as I've always liked every since I'd watch it on cable in the area back in the early 90's.

It really was a true "dotcom" of the boom. The above quote just emphasis that. It's almost sad. Of course, now that "work" isn't a "hip" place to be "we" can go home at nights and enjoy our own stuff. (That's "we" because "I" still have to work all the time even if it isn't "hip." ;) )
