Mac Screen Cap Without Grab
I’m sure this is old hat to you Macheads, but I just found out how to do screen shots without having to use Grab, which was annoying me because of it’s use of large TIFFs and needing to run a separate app. With the keyboard commands similar to what they are in Windows, I’m not back to screen shots with just a command. Also nice is that it can grab directly to the clipboard, but like Windows. Now if only one of the VM would support image clipboard data.
The commands?
- control-command-shift-3 for the whole screen
- control-command-shift-4 for a selection of the screen (neat feature)
- If you want a PNG file on the desktop, drop the control key
