NVIDIA Hardware on Apples: Why Reduced Features?
It’s been coming out from NVIDIA that the dual GPUs on the MacBook Pro are actually capable of Hybrid SLI – the 9400m and the 9600m GT can work together in parallel. In addition, the switch between the two and the switch to Hybrid mode can happen seamlessly. That is, there are no hardware or BIOS restrictions. Just the scrappy Mac OS X. But wait, why? Why can’t third parties create drivers or applications that allow this to happen? Obviously, they can on Windows. Is the Mac OS really that locked down?
Why wait for Apple?
