What Key is That?

Picture 5 A recent post I found via someone else’s Google Reader shared items gave me the information I needed to fix an annoying issue with Mac OS X: The tab key skips over anything but text entry and lists by default. Normally, a OS will use the tab key to change focus between all of the input elements of a form (think OSs like Linux, Windows, and pretty much every other one – though I’d guess maybe NeXT does it wrong, too). Anyway, changing the setting to “all controls” under “System Preferences –> Keyboard & Mouse –> Shortcuts” isn’t what this is about. It’s about the key you see to the left. You know, the one that looks like the power key – not the command key. Seriously, what is that? And isn’t it obvious that it’s the escape key? Yeah, not so much.
